
Kent Lucas is Co-founder and Managing Partner of non sibi ventures. Drawing on decades of experience across global industrial, mobility, and technology markets, Lucas brings a disciplined, value-investing approach to venture capital. He is deeply engaged in the application of AI across these industries and has built non sibi ventures’ differentiated AI strategy.
His 30-year investing career has been dedicated to the next industrial revolution, including managing over $1 billion in global industrial equities at Capital Group/American Funds. Before non sibi, Lucas was a Venture Partner at Next Gear Ventures, Head of Business Development at boutique venture firm VectoIQ LLC, and founding partner of global advisory firm 30X LLC, where he built an accelerator for the Korean government.
Kent has also served as an advisor to DRIVE TLV, Techstars, and as a mentor with the Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator (ERA) in New York. Earlier, he was Director of Equity Research for XP Investimentos in Brazil, where he launched the firm’s fundamental research platform and helped open its New York office, and had a stint as a professional poker player. He began his career at Citibank, working in corporate trust and municipal derivatives.
He holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford University’s GSB where he was a Corporate Executive Fellow. Committed to giving back, Lucas serves on the Boards of the Houston Freedmen’s Town Conservancy and as an advisor to the Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership (IFEL). Outside of work, Lucas enjoys the outdoors, sports, and mentoring young entrepreneurs.
