Dr. Camille Little operates at the forefront of modern machine learning and artificial intelligence, combining rigorous technical training with a focus on responsible deployment. She holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University, where her doctoral research focused on machine learning fairness, interpretability, ethics, optimization, and causal inference, advancing methods designed for reliable real-world systems. She has presented this work at leading global AI conferences, including ICLR and ICML, with publications accessible via her Google Scholar profile.
Alongside her academic research, Dr. Little brings applied machine learning experience across both industry and venture contexts. As an intern at Eli Lilly, she developed a causal recommendation system for pharmaceutical sales representatives using five years of Trulicity sales data, explicitly accounting for major confounding events such as COVID-19 disruptions and competitor drug launches. She later served as a Venture Fellow at non sibi ventures, contributing to portfolio company due diligence and supporting sourcing and preliminary research across dozens of early-stage investment opportunities.
Dr. Little has received multiple recognitions for both her technical contributions and leadership. She was awarded the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (2021–2025) for her potential as a high-impact scientist and engineer and received a JPMorgan research grant to develop fair and interpretable machine learning algorithms in collaboration with their research team.
Committed to leadership and access in STEM, Dr. Little founded and previously directed the BDPA Data Science Academy, which provides technical and professional development opportunities for Black college students. She also held multiple leadership roles within the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) at Rice University, including President, Secretary, and Fundraising Senator. A graduate of Phillips Academy Andover, she was a Division I athlete on the Rice University Women’s Track and Field Team, competing in the long jump, sprints, and relays.
Based in Houston, Texas, Dr. Little enjoys walking her goldendoodle, following the Detroit Lions and the NFL, and tutoring students in mathematics.
